Recording Devices
Long & McQuade and Tom Lee Music carry devices from Zoom, Olympus, Tascam, and others that are designed to record very high quality stereo recordings. The Zoom H2 is a good choice at a reasonable price. Some people use smart phones like the iPhone to record. The iPod Touch, iPad, and some other personal music devices with microphones can record. Many people will already own something that can record. The main difference with a dedicated device such as the Zoom H2 is the quality of the microphones. I use a Zoom H4 to record the choir rehearsals. The Zoom H4 and similar devices have the option to plug in two high quality external microphones for even better recording quality than with the built-in condenser microphones. — Greg Dixon

stay away from the voice memo devices as the quality will be poor for music.
